What is Mass?
The Mass is the central act of worship in the Catholic Church. It’s where we gather to pray, hear God’s Word, receive the Eucharist, and grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Mass brings our school community together in faith, gratitude, and reflection.
When We Attend Mass
St. Joseph students attend Mass every Thursday at 9:00 AM and on all Holy Days of Obligation throughout the school year.
- Led by Father Paul, Mass is a time where students hear familiar Bible stories explained in a way that connects with their own lives and experiences.
- Included with each school Mass:
- Catholic students are invited to receive the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation (available periodically).
- Non-Catholic students are offered a special individual blessing from Father Paul.

Student Involvement at Mass
Mass is not only attended — it’s experienced together as a community, and students play an important role.
- Catholic students may serve as altar servers starting in 3rd grade.
- All students can participate as:
- Lectors (readers of Scripture)
- Petition readers
- Gift bearers during the Preparation of the Gifts
Our Prayer Space
Inside our school is a quiet Prayer Space, where students can go when they need peace, encouragement, or just a few minutes away from class.
- Filled with books on the saints, prayer cards, and comforting resources
- Students may write private prayer intentions and place them in a prayer box
- These requests are prayed for weekly by students and staff — anonymously and with love
- Students are also encouraged to go to the space anytime during the school day to gather their thoughts for a few minutes if needed to continue their academic success.
Parents and Families Are Always Welcome!
We warmly invite all parents, guardians, grandparents, and family members to join us for school Mass. It’s a beautiful way to share in your child’s faith journey and be part of our spiritual community.
Thinking About Joining the Church?
