Sacrament Preparation

Home / Sacrament Preparation

At St. Joseph Catholic School, sacramental preparation is an important and joyful part of our students’ faith journey. Guided by the Diocese of Toledo and supported by both classroom learning and parish life, our students prepare to receive the sacraments with reverence and understanding.

First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

Students prepare for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion during their 2nd-grade year.

Preparation is done in the classroom with faith-filled lessons, prayer, and support from teachers and families.

Confirmation

Students receive preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation in their 8th-grade year, also during classroom instruction.

This formation focuses on deepening their understanding of the Holy Spirit, Church teachings, and their call to live as disciples of Christ.

Our sacrament preparation includes:

  • Following the Diocesan curriculum
  • Dedicated religion class time focused on each sacrament
  • Prayer, scripture, and activities that make learning engaging and meaningful
  • Family support and communication with our parish to guide students on their path to receiving each sacrament
