The Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) program gives individuals and businesses the opportunity to directly support students by funding scholarships for families who desire a faith-based, values-driven education.

Through the SGO, donors can contribute to student tuition and receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit (up to allowable limits). It is one of the most powerful ways to redirect tax dollars toward meaningful educational impact.

How the SGO Program Works

  1. Donors contribute to the SGO.
    Individuals and businesses make a donation to the approved Scholarship Granting Organization.
  2. Donors receive a tax credit.
    The state tax credit is limited to $750 for an individual taxpayer or $1500 for married couples filing jointly. The tax credit cannot exceed the Ohio tax owed.
  3. Scholarships are awarded.
    The SGO distributes funds as tuition scholarships to eligible students based on financial need.
  4. Students receive access to quality education.
    Families gain access to a fully funded education that may not otherwise have been financially possible.

How to Donate

Donating through the SGO is straightforward:

  1. Visit dotsgo.org
  2. Select Donate Now.
  3. Choose Donate Online or Mail a Check
  4. If you select Donate Online, you will have 2 options: Credit Card or Direct Debit from a bank account.
  5. Ways to Donate:
    • If you select Credit Card, follow the prompts to complete the form.
    • If you elect to do a direct debit from your bank account, click on Direct Debit and follow the prompts.
    • If you elect to Mail a Check, please print the form and fill it out. Make checks payable to: Diocese of Toledo Scholarship Fund.
  6. Enter Your Donation Amount.
  7. Select St. Joseph School Galion as the school name and your parish of either Holy Trinity Bucyrus or St. Joseph Galion.
  8. You will receive documentation indicating that you have donated to the scholarship fund. This document will be your proof that you can take the tax credit on your Ohio State Income Tax filing form.
